About the Team
The story of Fort Worth police officers who found a way to serve beyond the badge.

Lt. Patrick Allen Delano
Fort Worth Police Department
Team Founder and Coach
Patrick Delano joined the Fort Worth Police Department and has served for over two decades, rising from Officer to Sergeant to his current rank as Lieutenant. A lifelong hockey enthusiast, he founded the Fort Worth Panthers Police Hockey Team in 2014 as a way to channel the camaraderie of the sport into community service.
From the Badge to the Rink
In 2014, Lt. Patrick Delano had a simple idea: gather the Fort Worth police officers who loved hockey and put them to work for the community. What started as a small group of officers playing pickup games has grown into one of the most respected charity hockey programs in North Texas.
As a Fort Worth Police Lieutenant, Patrick brings the same leadership, discipline, and commitment to the Panthers that he brings to the force. Under his guidance, the team has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for fallen officer funds, medical assistance programs, and community outreach initiatives.
"We play because we love the game, but we play for something bigger than ourselves. Every time we step on the ice, we're honoring the badge and the people we serve."
